In response to social pressure, Brook Yanlin turns his gaze toward the body — a silent vessel where experience accumulates. Social structures and collective memories leave marks on the individual, not only in thought, but also in flesh. In its silence, the body becomes a way of seeing: a place where the unspeakable begins to take form, and where traces of pressure, memory, and impact can still be followed. This series does not begin with a conclusion, but with a body — concrete, vulnerable, and present.
The Body series traces emotional pain and trauma through bodily images, lines, and symbols. Each work approaches pain differently, allowing the body to appear as a quiet record of inner experience.
