Brook Yanlin does not seek to explain his work — he simply wants people to feel it. Faced with the overwhelming diversity of contemporary art forms, he began to question the role of traditional easel painting and turned to other media in search of new possibilities. Over time, he came to understand that the medium is merely a tool, and that artists choose their tools in order to express what they think and feel.
